Port workers grabbed with 150kg of cocaine

TWO men, caught taking more than 150kg of cocaine from a container in Las Palmas Port, were arrested without bail

The lorry driver and a port employee, attempting to leave the port with the drugs last Thursday, were held by the National Police Organised Crime and Drug unit from Tenerife and Las Palmas, in collaboration with the Guardia Civil and Customs.

The lorry in which the suspects were travelling in, had previously been driven there, fully loaded.

But the men took advantage of the time it took workers to unload it by seeking out a container, which had arrived from South America.

The duo then removed several packages of cocaine, hidden in sports bags, but to no avail.
