Palms so happy in defeat

THE Division 1 catch-up games threw up a couple of surprises, and Palms Pool Bar were chuffed with the final score when they hosted high-flying Gaffers.

Lynn, expecting an 8-0 defeat, Lynn played well to beat her Gaffer opponent, and, with a doubles and trebles win took an impressive three points. But Gaffers responded, eventually, and edged home 5-3.

The Pub, who went to Suters 20:30 Crew with high hopes, came away with a superb 5-3 win to reach the top of the table, where three teams are separated by just four points… with just one match to play.

Top-form Bill shot a maximum as his Emerald Lounge team took the trebles to record a 5-3 win against a stubborn Naughty Nautas. And Sundowners travelled to Ourplace Playgirls, and in a hard-fought game, took the the trebles to win 5-3.

In the battle for top spot The Loch-In Bullseyes claimed an excellent 6-2 win at Pas O Nadas ‘B’, strengthening their claim to the Division 2 title.

Good luck to all taking part in the semi-finals of the Trophy and Plate competitions.
