Motorworld goes up in flames

IN the early hours of last Friday morning the new premises of Motorworld, CostadelSilencio went up in flames. Alarms sounded at 03.07 alerting the fact that something was wrong, once confirmed the alarm company then sent 5 fire crews from across the south ofTenerifeto get the blaze under control. Together with Guardia Civil and an Ambulance, thankfully no-one was injured in the blaze which took a number of hours to contain, including one car reigniting!

The Motorworld warehouse stored 25 cars in total, including one vintage and one classic car, all that remains now is an amalgam of plastic and charred car bodies. The extent of the damage is not fully known as the site is currently too dangerous to investigate.

Forensic officers are currently visiting the scene, but it is thought that the fire began in BMW 328, 1997 which Motorworld had recently part exchanged.

The temperatures inside the warehouse were so high that it melted everything inside.

But, thanks to the landlord of the property Motorworld is still able to trade on land adjacent to the garage, as a handful of cars were outside the property.
