Lorraine demonstrates how to cook amazing dishes completely from scratch – in less time than you might imagine.
For some, cooking dinner without a packet or a jar would seem like a crazy idea, butLorrainehas accessible solutions for all occasions: from entertaining friends to preparing quick family midweek dinners and putting a twist on classic favourites, making them easier to cook at any time.
Lorraineis keen to learn from others too. In the series she meets other cooks, who reveal their own time saving techniques – vital when they need to prepare dishes quickly. She also draws on her own experience of working in professional kitchens and provides invaluable time-saving tips that will make preparing and cooking great food achievable at home.
Lorraine says: “Most of my dishes are ready in super quick time. There are a few which take only minutes to prepare, but are then slow-cooked in the oven. And you can’t call sitting down with a book and a glass of wine cooking!” Dishes like her delicious ‘fast prep slow-roast lamb’, for example, need just the tiniest amount of prepping before they go in the oven.
Other dishes like prawn linguine with a chorizo and cabernet sauce, Lozza’s lamb biryani and spicy chicken fajita are prepared in a flash and Lorraine hopes her fresh ideas and recipes will inspire viewers to try them at home.
“All the dishes in the series are simple to make, but screen-lickingly beautiful and really tasty,” she adds. “I’ve created a variety of easy meals from delicious salads and mouthwatering mains to show-stopping desserts and, of course, my signature bakes. They are so simple and scrumptious once you have cooked them once you will come back to them time and time again.”
