Tenerife return to promotion venue

THE fixures are out for the new Spanish football season, and Tenerife have been given a kind return to life in the Second Division as they travel to face Girona on the opening weekend.

It was on the north-west coast that Tenerife secured promotion two seasons ago, so the fans will travel with some lovely memories.
Tenerife’s first home game is against Salamanca a week later, before the first “big” match at Rayo.

The first Canarian derby in Santa Cruz sees Las Palmas in town on 22nd January, while the return in Gran Canaria is on 5th June ‒ the last day of the season.
