Indeed, it was Woodys A who lit up the night in a home tie against lowly Heroes bar, winning every single leg in an 8-0 demolition of the Silencio team. Exiles, who won by the same margin, kept themselves firmly at the top of the table by whitewashing Sundowners. Karl and Del Boy, who hit a 180 and a 15-dart leg respectively, were in particularly good form. Another clean-sweep was recorded by Tenerife Suns, who made the long trek next door to play the Flukers. No fluke in the scoreline for the Suns, though, as a 124 finish by Dave, and a 114 by Tam, helped earn the visitors all the points. Title hopefuls Bar 180 and Nauta A locked horns on the Golf del Sur in a very competitive match. The visitors quickly went into a 3-1 lead, but they were pulled back and finally beaten by some great darts in the doubles from Richard and Justin. They had 15 and 12-dart legs, Richie also hitting a 180 in a 5-3 victory. Bob, from Toscales, checked out on 114, but his team could only manage a 4-4 draw with the X-Men. Target A enjoyed some fine hospitality as they visited the Silver Surfers, and they were soon 4-1 up after the singles. The Los Abrigos team put up a strong challenge in the latter stages but ended up on the wrong end of a 5-3 scoreline. Phoenix Bar kept themselves in second place, with Steve ‘Jagermeister’ Jones hitting a 180 and Bubbles checking out 113 as they scored a resounding 7-1 win over Strikers.
Division 2 leaders Barracudarts Boys stamped their authority in an away tie at Marilyns, coming away with a fine 8-0 triumph. Fellow title-chasers Nautas Nutters fell off the pace slightly as they ground out a 4-4 draw with Our Place Naturals. But Naughty Nautas did themselves no harm as they overcame Rood B 7-1, Simon recording a 180 for the campsite team. Bar 180 B remain unbeaten this term, and their fine form continued as they beat the Hunters in a close 5-3 win. The Tavern visited new boys Gaffers in Las Americas and came away with half the points available as they battled out a 4-4 draw. Knights B entertained Amigos Bad Girls and although they battled hard, they eventually conceded 5-3. Enid, of the Bad Girls, earned plaudits from both sides as she played a blinder. Bubbly Babs, of the Phoenix Flames, hit her highest-ever score (174) in her team’s away match at Yelas Bar. But the Los Cristianos side have enjoyed a solid start to the season, and it looks set to continue as they put out the Flames with a 7-1 victory. Woodys B pitched up at La Caña Lancers in Los Abrigos, enjoying their trip to the seaside so much that they went home with six shiny points in the bag.
