Illegal camping - 02.07.2010

The Councillor for Tourism in Adeje, Miguel Angel Santos Cruz has reported that during this last month, they have been working jointly to study and seek measures and actions to be carried out in the municipality to fight the occupation of public areas by illegal campers.

They recently held a meeting, which was attended by a delegate of the Government, representatives of the Costas of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Guardia Civil, the Environmental Protection Agency Urban and Natural Environment Advisor Cabildo de Tenerife, and the Adeje Councillor for Tourism.

 

 

Santos Cruz explained that "our aim is to join forces, to adopt control measures for camping and occupations in the public domain and protected natural areas, involving, in addition illegal activity, where there poses a danger to the environment, particularly as regards to health and hygiene as this type of camping seems to generate an accumulation of garbage and waste in areas not equipped or authorized."
