School Strikes - 25.04.2008
Last week your children came home with a note, if they attend Spanish School, to say that there will be a three day strike; a situation which has become a common occurrence over the past 14 months. The strike will affect 25,000 teachers and 311,984 students assigned to 729 Infant and Primary centres and 303 Secondary and centres.

The strike committee insisted yesterday to commence a dialogue with the Ministry, to try to reach an agreement on their proposals which they have been calling since the conflict began, 14 months ago.

Trade unions warn that if the Ministry keeps its silence regarding the demands, "harder measures," will take place which, as announced by Manuel Rodriguez, feta-UGT, "go through a week of strikes in May and realization of other partial strikes. "
