Irish beauty dies after balcony fall

Local 5AN Irish girl from County Cork, who couldn’t wait  for a “summer of adventures and fun” in Tenerife, has fallen to her death from a hotel balcony.

Ramona Fagan was just two days in to her summer holiday last Wednesday when the tragedy occurred. Resort staff tried to revive the 21-year-old beauty, but to no avail.

Tributes poured in for popular Ramona, who posted on Instagram before her “summer of fun” that she was “so excited, I could explode”.

One heartbroken friend wrote on social media: “You never really know what’s around the corner. Such a sweet beautiful and genuine girl.”

And a childhood friend said: “People need to know how much of a loving kind-hearted person you were. You were the best friend to me for years. Been through so much together.

“Don’t think we were never not laughing when we were together. Have the best memories of my life with ya, and I’m so glad I have had the pleasure to grow up with you.”

Another friend added: “A gorgeous young girl with a contagious smile. Thinking of your family and big group of friends.”

One pal said: “You will be FOREVER in my heart my Dear Ramona Fagan till we meet again R.I.P.”

It is believed that Ramona, a former pupil of Mayfield Community School in Cork, who once trained as a beautician and worked in that sector, had come out to Tenerife with a friend earlier in the month and planned to stay here for six weeks.

The Department of Foreign Affairs contacted Cork police soon after the incident and is providing consular assistance to the family.
