Iberostar’s comfort zone
Iberostar Tenerife 82 Estudiantes 63
TOP of the Liga Endesa is proving to be a comfortable perch for Iberostar Tenerife. And another powerful away victory at Estudiantes ensured they maintained a two-point gap on the big guns of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
It’s not just the winning that’s important, Tenerife are showing they can kill off a game by blitzing their opponents.
They led all the way and saved the best for the final quarter, taking that 28-15 to shake of any resistance.
All the squad are contributing to the success, and latest signing Tariq Kirksay had his best game in a Tenerife vest, top-scoring with 16 points. Georgios Bogris gave good support with his 12 points.
This Sunday (19th), Tenerife are at home to Valencia at 5.30pm in La Laguna. Every game now is massive, and the draw has been made for the final eight teams in the European Champions League.
Tenerife face French team Asvel Lyon away on Tuesday (21st) or Wednesday (22rd) and back at home on 28th or 29th March, once the TV coverage has been arranged.
Glory awaits on two fronts, but the club are already enjoying their best-ever season.
