Gastro Tourism
EL SAUZAL will be hosting a gastro tourism seminar later this month – 26th and 27th July. Cabildo Vice President, Carlos Alonso, said that the Cabildo was committed to a tourism experience, including wine and gastronomy. He pointed out that the Cabildo need to encourage tourism experiences, which enable, “an increase in spending on target, as well as the average stay and repetition”. The Director of the UniversityofLa Laguna, Jose Antonio Lastre, explained that, “it’s a seminar to exchange experiences on these types of tourism” (wine and food), and stated that it is undeniable that this type of tourism has potential. At the seminar there will be three lectures, the experiences of nine entrepreneurs will be showcased and there will also be discussions to talk about how to raise awareness of gastro tourism as a first step of the action of marketing the product to be sold abroad. The Mayor of El Sauzal, Mariano Perez, showed the pride of the municipality for hosting the seminar and stressed the importance of taking into account new trends in tourism.
