Football transfer worth extra 36 million cheers

A CHINESE Super League football club has offered to buy six million bottles of wine to seal a deal with Spanish player Andres Iniesta.

Chongqing Dangdai Lifan officials are said to have offered the Barcelona centre midfielder an 80-million-euro deal over three years.

And, to sweeten the deal, they also pledged to order six million bottles of wine from Iniesta’s family business, worth six euros each.

That  adds up to an astonishing 36m euros, which boosts the total transfer fee to 116 million euros, less the footballer’s cost of producing the alcohol.

Iniesta, whose goal won the World Cup for Spain eight years ago, said: “This is my last season here, and it is demanding to play here year after year. But there are still things to be sorted.

“I have said I will never play against Barca, so I won’t play in Europe… Barca has given me everything.”
