Firemen to the rescue

TENERIFE Fire Brigade were called to bolster a rescue operation on Tuesday after a man fell from a wall into a deep ravine in the Arico region of Las Aguelillas.

The emergency services were called by the man’s companion, who told them he needed medical attention, and the local firemen, plus an ambulance, were dispatched straight away.

After a careful plan of action, the firemen rescued the injured man, placing him on to a spinal board and strapping him in safely to support his body.

They then carried him to the ambulance, which whisked him off to hospital after medics had checked his injuries.
