Excellent finish to a successful season
The contest was perhaps one of the most grueling due to the location of Sapri, which meant a long journey, the final leg being by train in 40 degree plus heat.
Following a two hour delay the action began at 8pm, ending at 3am the following morning! Chris achieved 4th place, one better than last year so was very please with his achievement.
That’s the last contest for this year; he is taking a break to concentrate on preparing his training partner Lee Burton for the Canary Island Championship in October 2012. Chris himself will compete again next year – from October 2013.
Chris told Canarian Weekly, “The immediate goal now is to get Lee ready for October, and the Canary Island Championship is taking place here in Tenerife, at the Infanta Leonora in Los Cristianos, where 1st place for Lee is the only option, after his 2nd place last year.”
“I couldn’t have done this without the help and support from everyone, Jose Domingo, my trainer inSanta Cruz, my family and my wife Tanya, who prepares all my food.”
“I’m very happy with this season, after 20 years of competing this is my most successful season yet at both a National and International level and have surpassed all my expectations.”
