Cowardly punch leaves Scottish tourist in coma

A SCOTSMAN, left in a coma after a single-punch from behind by an unknown man in Ibiza, is fighting for his life.
Gavin Robertson suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain, after the unprovoked attack in Ibiza.
The 26-year-old from Ayrshire remains in an induced coma at the Balearic island’s Policlinica del Rosaria hospital, with his mother, Kirsty McMaster, 45, and 37-year-old aunt Paula Marshall at his bedside.
His anxious mum said: “Gavin’s in a stable condition, in an induced coma, and doctors say it will be at least five days before they try to take him off it, so this week is critical.
“The pressure on his brain keeps going up and down, and we just don’t know what the lasting damage could be.”
Gavin, an electrician, had been standing at an ATM with friends when a stranger ran up behind him and punched him on the side of the head. He now faces a gruelling recovery, which could last months.
Kirsty added: “One punch is all it took. He hit his head on the ground and fractured his skull, and it’s going to be a long road ahead for him, and for all of us.”
