Animals targeted by evil poisoners

Local 13AUTHORITIES are investigating a possible case of mass animal poisoning on the Anaga Mountain, discovered by Santa Cruz Forest Unit.

In turn, the Unit notified the Local Police and the Guardia Civil Nature Protection service (Seprona). The disturbing find took place on Monday in Igueste de San Andrés, where numerous dead animals were found at the bottom of a barranco.

According to the forest units’ Twitter account, they found nine ducks, four chickens, four pigeons, a turtle dove and a cat … and they don’t rule out finding more dead creatures.

Although the investigation is still open, the results of toxicology tests have not yet been released. But everything points to poisoning as a possible cause of death.
